Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Product and Technical Questions
What type of Breakout Boxes does Tesuto offer?
We design and manufacture a wide range of breakout boxes including D-Sub breakout boxes, MIL-DTL-38999 circular connector breakout boxes, and other circular and rectangular connector configurations. We support standard pin counts as well as fully custom layouts. Our products are designed for lab use, system integration, troubleshooting, aerospace applications, and industrial environments. Visit out our Custom Design Gallery!
How are Tesuto breakout boxes tested?
We perform 100% electrical testing on every breakout box prior to shipment. We do not perform random batch testing — each unit is individually inspected and tested including continuity testing and high-voltage Insulation Resistance (IR) test to ensure each unit meets its design specification.
Are Tesuto breakout boxes wired or PCB based?
Our standard D-Sub breakout boxes use an internal PCB to route signals efficiently and reliably. In contrast, our circular connector breakout boxes like the D38999 connector breakout boxes can be internally wired using silver-plated Mil-Spec wire for enhanced durability and performance. For certain designs, internal connections may utilize a combination of PCB routing and discrete wiring, depending on the application requirements and box size.
Can you build to our drawing or schematic?
Absolutely. We regularly begin the quoting process using customer input such as:
- Customer schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Connector pin assignment tables
- Written specifications and requirement
- If documentation is incomplete, our team can assist in clarifying requirements before production.
How wide are your PCB traces?
Tesuto PCB-based breakout boxes are engineered to support the maximum current rating of each specific model. Our standard PCB designs utilize 2 oz. copper laminates with trace widths sized to match the connector’s current capacity. For higher-current or larger breakout box models, we use heavier 3 oz. copper layers to ensure reliable performance and thermal stability.
